Home composters in focus
The Ministry of Climate and Environment is getting ready to examine household composters.
Referring to the issue of including the mass of bio-waste constituting municipal waste recycled at source (i.e. mainly in home composters) to the level of preparation for re-use and recycling of municipal waste, the Ministry of Climate and the Environment informed that it is taking steps to facilitate the application of the calculation methods specified in in the Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1004 of 7 June 2019 and making calculations, taking into account the national legal order and regional conditions.
The Ministry of Climate and Environment is considering, inter alia, conducting tests, including direct and indirect measurements of recycled mass at source, on individual properties, selected in representative samples of the population.
